Often, the featured art on Sheepish Dreams is by one of the so-called "god artists," with hyper-realistic renderings that, for most artists, feel unattainable. Today's featured piece by Coubalt bucks that trend, proving that style is unimportant to creating a truly fantastic NSFW artwork — but the devil, as always, is in the details.
Coubalt's illustration of their VRC avatar, Mana, features a classic "pressed against the glass" pose, with Mana's breasts and hand squished against the glass. Coubalt's rendering and shading perfectly capture the way skin deforms and discolors against glass — pay special attention to the rim lighting around Mana's areolae, and the bounce lighting at the bottom of her breasts.
Moving to the rest of the illustration, Mana's hair has a glossy feel that takes simple cel-shading and uses darker terminating lines to carve out chunks of hair. Her eyes are captivating, but are surprisingly simple when analyzed — it's the execution, bold and confident, that inspires.
